Meeting of Mr. Maher Canawati with the Speaker of the Indonesian Parliament in Surabia
In the meeting that brought the two parties together in the Indonesian city of Surabia, the President of Parliament welcomed Mr. Maher, stressing that tourism is a language of acquaintance between peoples. He said that Palestine is in the heart and that the people of the town of peace are an important model for coexistence between religions. Today, we need to draw closer to God and spread peace among peoples.
In his speech, Mr. Maher affirmed the Palestinian people’s love for the Indonesian people, inviting him to visit Palestine and also asking him to invite his people to the pilgrims to Palestine, saying: Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa need your presence to support it and protect it from the hand of the usurper.
A detailed explanation was given about the main tourist places in Palestine, and he mentioned the city of Bethlehem and Jerusalem, and in the end, souvenirs were exchanged.

In coordination with Brother Fariz Mahdaoui, the Palestinian ambassador to Indonesia, and Mr. Maher Canawati, Dr. Peter Bushid, President of the American University in Indonesia, attended today to visit some Palestinian universities, with which Mr. Maher Canawati coordinated to work on obtaining the largest number of grants and in several fields where they are awarded through universities in coordination and cooperation with Mr. Maher.
The guest started the visit to Bethlehem University and then escorted him to the Salesian School, where for the first time students from the vocational sector will be sent with full scholarships in order to complete their professional specialization and obtain a bachelor’s degree.
Then they went to Bir Zeit University in Ramallah, and the meeting took place with the university president, and then the president of An-Najah University in Nablus. The last meeting was with the president of Al-Quds Open University in Bethlehem.
The president of the American University agreed with his Palestinian colleagues to grant a set of scholarships to obtain bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees, and expressed his willingness to send experts in the field of training for the teachers of the aforementioned universities.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Maher Canawati presented a souvenir to him, expressing his personal thanks and thanks to the Palestinian universities for implementing his promises to visit Palestine so quickly.

The Governor of the Indonesian state of Tomohon welcomed Mr. Maher Canawati, the Palestinian businessman and member of the Bethlehem Municipal Council, in his own way. From my small town there, on a hilltop and in a poor cave there was born Jesus Christ in my city Bethlehem. I came today as a son of this city and witness its message. I carry to you the greetings of its children and families and I carry to you the message of the teachings of our Lord Christ, glory be to him, the message of love, peace and coexistence. There in this city you feel With peace, you feel safe and secure, even if it is absent from the world and absent in the Middle East and the Arab countries, Syria, Egypt, but you will feel in the city of peace with security and safety, and today while I am among you, the message of peace began to flow among the peoples, so they forced their government to start anew in the peace process, which we ask God to This spot in my country is a symbol of coexistence between peoples of various religions, Christianity, Islam and Judaism. These peoples love peace, stemming from religious teachings. Today, from your beloved country, Indonesia, we invite you to be witnesses to the message of love and peace. And the city of Jerusalem to identify the sites of the heavenly messages, the Church of the Nativity, the place of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Church of the Resurrection, the Dome of the Rock, other religious sites, and all churches In Palestine and the Occupied Territories, you will be witnesses to the birth message.
