During his last visit to Indonesia on 7/13/2016, which lasted for two weeks, businessman Maher Canawati met with several official governmental and civil bodies and clerics, the most important of which was the presence of Mr. Maher Canawati, one of the meetings related to the encouragement and support of the Indonesian President, in the presence of a number of senior statesmen, government and ministers during the meeting Mr. Maher was able to speak to the Indonesian President, that he is one of the Palestinian citizens and we came to support you, Mr. President, and despite the heavy presence of attendance and security, the Indonesian President approached Mr. Maher and expressed to him his love for the Palestinian people and his continuous support for President Abu Mazen.
An official invitation was sent to Mr. Maher from the Indonesian side on 08/17/3016 to commemorate Indonesia’s Independence Day in the Al-Rasi Palace in Jakarta.

The inauguration took place on Sunday April 24 2016, when female students from the Open University and the Youth Action Center Lailak joint initiative to create a garden for the women’s department in Kamal Abdel Nasser Hospital “Psychiatric Hospital”. This initiative aims to work to integrate the beneficiaries of this section into normal and healthy life. And working to create an appropriate atmosphere for women residing to roam in this park, and thus help create a psychological atmosphere suitable for this category.
Here, I would like to thank those who contributed to the success of this project, especially the sisters, students of Al-Quds Open University, the Center for Youth Action, Lailak, the management of Kamal Abdel Nasser Hospital, and the local community who contributed financially and morally to the success of this project. We wish a speedy recovery to the hospital residents.

Gentlemen, with the preservation of titles
Today, on this occasion, we meet fifty years after the founding of this ancient club, the Fathers and Grandfathers Club. Indeed, we and you today have the right to celebrate the golden jubilee of the Bethlehem Islamic Club, which worked hard in its successive administrations, to remain a beacon for this city and who gathered all its mosaics without discrimination or distinction and out of it were distinguished players. They conveyed through their daily lives the most beautiful types of coexistence befitting the city of the cradle of Christ, to him be glory, which reflects the true spirit of Islam. The club was a school to teach respect for religions and coexistence. Here, I would like to admonish my family and loved ones in the city of Bethlehem for their lack of required interaction, providing support and providing the necessary projects to maintain the continuity of this club and serve our children in this city. I called on all attendees, as well as absentees, to support this club, which does not stop providing its services to the people of Bethlehem in particular and the people of the governorate in general.
You have also noticed during the previous weeks the sports week that the club held, which included various activities in all sports, the most important of which was the diversity that allowed all ages to participate, and it was in itself an achievement that other clubs could not establish. How great you are, sons of the Islamic club.
We must commend the role of the sports federations, the Olympic Committee and its leader Brother Abu Rami Jibril Rajoub for the qualitative shift in Palestinian sports. All thanks and appreciation to you and President Abu Mazen, may God preserve him, for his constant interest in youth.
During our participation in this sports week, we always miss our martyrs, the sons of this club in particular, and all of our martyrs. A thousand mercy on the souls of us, and we wish our brave prisoners to meet them as soon as possible to participate with us in the activities of the sports week and the club’s activities in general, and we call for the speedy recovery of all the wounded.
Glory and eternity to our brave martyrs, freedom for the prisoners, and a speedy recovery for the wounded.

Businessman Maher Canawati was able to promote tourism to Palestine, increase the number of Indonesian pilgrims, and double the number of Indonesian tourists. This came during the visit that Mr. Maher is making to Indonesia these days, and the necessary agreements in this regard have been signed.
With this agreement, Mr. Maher broke a distinguished number in the increase in the flow of tourist delegations to Palestine, which will undoubtedly increase the tourism economic income.

Terrorism has no religion and no homeland
